WHAT IS GOODPHIL?

The GoodPhil Games is a three-day conference and competition that unites all thirteen of the Filipino Student Associations (FSAs) from all over Texas, including Oklahoma as they face each other head-to-head in three different categories of dance and individual sports.

It is a huge annual event held in the spring semester that rotates between one of five designated host colleges every year. Furthermore, not only FSA members come to participate, but also invited friends and family who come to showcase their loudest and proudest school spirit and provide support.

HOW DO I QUALIFY TO PARTICIPATE?

In order to participate in these events, PhilSA members not only MUST have their semester dues paid off, but also reach the REQUIRED amount of points by the designated final date when points are added up. Only then, the PhilSA member is qualified to participate in GoodPhil events.

point requirements:

FULL YEAR members must earn 85 points [20 of the points must be cultural points]

SPRING SEMESTER members must earn 65 points [10 of the points must be cultural points]

SPORTS MAX: 30 points PER SEMESTER

CULTURAL MIN: 10 points PER SEMESTER

cultural incentives:

for the semesters you commit to a cultural team, you only have to attend 2 cultural events

Keep in mind, if you pay semester dues for both fall and spring rather than yearly, you are STILL considered to be a full year member and must reach the requirements.

FOR MEMBERS THAT WANT TO SPECTATE WITH PHILSA:

If you want to spectate with TAMU PhilSA (using hotel/traveling accommodations coordinated by PhilSA), YOU MUST MEET THE GOODPHIL POINT REQUIREMENT.

FOR MEMBERS WHO WANT TO SPECTATE AS A GENERAL ADMISSION (applies to non-members also):

If you do not want to use the hotel/traveling accommodations coordinated by PhilSA, you DO NOT NEED to meet the GoodPhil point requirement BUT you must purchase the GENERAL ADMISSION tickets through the host school, the University of Texas at San Antonio. If you purchase general admission tickets, you will not be sitting with the TAMU PhilSA section.

***Members who are competing/ or are PhilSA spectators MUST ALSO pay the GoodPhil dues***

***PLEASE NOTE***

There will be plenty of point opportunities from events/meetings/concessions/workshops planned out throughout the year that will allow members to rack up points. No excuses!

If a member is unable to meet both qualifications, he/she/they are unable to participate in the event, but can attend as a viewer.
